Week 2:- BiW Fixture Basics Challenge
1.Project Execution Activity
2.Types of joining Processes.
Joining function panels merged together..
Spot welding
Riveting
Mic welding
3.Resistance Welding
Resistance spot welding is the contacting Metal Surfaces are joined the heat obtained from resistance to electric current..
Application
sheet thickness 0.5 to 3mm welded.
Two shaped copper alloy electrodes welding
Small spot in metal
Forcing a large current through the spot will melt the metal
4.Fusion welding
Joins of two metal used on a intermediate filler material..
Types of Fusion Welding
Arc welding
Laser Welding
Induction Welding
Applications
Sheet metal welding
Automotive and automobile industry
Panels join welding
Re weld for automobiles
5. 3.2.1.Process
Fixture Designer the major portion of design time is spent deciding how to locate the workpieces in the fixture.. 9 degrees of freedom of the workpieces need to be fixed.
3.2.1 methods rest the work piece on three non collinear points of the bottom surface and freedom axis +Z,CROT-X ,ACROT-X,..
Rest the work piece at two points of side surface..and will be fix +Y and ACROT -Z degrees of freedom..
6.Body coordinate system
The body coordinate system has been widely used in automotive industry for drawing in car parts , product, process design.
A coordinate system is a reference system consisting of a set of points, lines and surfaces.
BCS is also called as car line and body line
X- Longitudinal direction
Y- Transverse Direction
Z- Vertical Direction
