Week -2
Problem # 1
The purpose of this lab is to create a doorbell model when the switch is closed the electromagnet receives electrical power from the battery and pulls the metal arm to hit the bell producing sound.
The simulation will be set for 2 seconds and then released. The observation of the physical movement of the plunger will be observed through the scope.

Model Simulation

As we can see from the graph simulation, the switch is closed for 2 seconds and release after the switch is open.
Problem #2
The purpose of this lab is to use a thermistor to sense the temperature of a heater & turn on or turn off the fan as per the below conditions:
Temperature source:
- 20 °C from 0 to 10 seconds
- 27 °C from 10 to 30 seconds
- 23 °C from 30 to 50 seconds
Fan conditions: ON if the temperature above 25 °C, OFF otherwise

Scopes Readings

According to the graphs simulation, we can see that the model works for all three conditions below:
- 20 °C from 0 to 10 seconds
- 27 °C from 10 to 30 seconds
- 23 °C from 30 to 50 seconds
Fan conditions: ON if the temperature above 25 °C, OFF.
Conclusion:
Both labs, the doorbell, and thermistor sensing models were excellent because they help to get familiar with Simulink modeling components and also to know how to use mechanical, electrical, and thermal components together in a system using PS-Simulink and Simulink-PS.
