Week -2

  1. Make a Simulink model of a Doorbell using a solenoid block:

With reference to the attached Simulink model file, the doorbell circuit can be operated using two ways 1) Pulse generator and 2) Signal builder.

the switch receives the signal from the signal builder which turns on the switch from 2 to 4 seconds, in real-time which means the total turn-on time of the switch is 2 seconds. the electromagnetic coil is energized for that 2 seconds and after that, it goes off. on time of switch results in the movement of the plunger which is observed by the translational sensor.

2. Use a thermistor to sense the temperature of a heater & turn on or turn off the fan:

In this model, the signal builder acts as a temperature source that is supplied to the thermistor. the resistor voltage is sensed by a voltage sensor and it is fed to a controlled switch which turns on and off the motor. the motor shaft is attached to the rotational sensor which acts as a fan.

Turn on condition: when the temperature goes beyond the 25 c thermistor voltage goes high which crosses the limit value of the controlled switch which turns on the motor. once the temperature goes below the limit value the switch disconnect the motor from the supply which is seen from the below graphs.
