Week -2
1. Aim:To create simulink model of door bell using solenoid block with the following conditions such as,when the switch is closed the electromagnet receives electrical power from the battery and pulls the metal arm to hit the bell producing sound and to create a situation where the switch is closed for 2 seconds and then released and to Observe the physical movement of the plunger.
Apparatus(blocks or tools)required:Pulse generator,switch,voltage source,simulink to ps converter,electrical reference,solver configuration,solenoid,ideal transational motion sensor,mechanical transational reference,ps simulink converter and scope.
Model/Block diagram:
Report:The pulse generator with the pulse period as 4s and pulse width 50% of period as mentioned in above condition such as the switch is closed for 2sec and its going to create an input signal and its further connected to an switch with an simulink to ps converter and its connected to the solenoid electrical part with an voltage source of 12v with an reference and the solver configuration, the mechanical part of the solenoid with an damping frequency as 4N*s/m and an stroking force as 5mm and it is connected to an ideal transational motion sensor and an mechanical transational reference, and from the port C in the ideal transational motion sensor the output is connected to an scope with an ps to simulink converter.By configuring or simulating an above discribed model the results are clearly absorbed by an scope by when switch is closed for first 2 sec and trun on for next 2sec,by the physical movement of the plunger which is an terminal of the soleniod.
Result:From the above illustration the situation or the condition as per the requirments from the solenoid is successfully obtained, where the switch is closed for 2 seconds and then released for an other 2sec the resultant graph has been attached in the below mentioned file browser please go through it.
2. Aim: To create a model of an thermistor to sense the temperature of a heater & turn on or turn off the fan as per the given conditions.
Apparatus(blocks or tools)required:Signal builder,ps converter,controlled temperature source,thermistor,resistor,voltage sensor,switch,display,electrical reference,motor,ideal reference motor sensor,solver configuration,constant,scope.
Model/Block diagram:
Report and Result:The signal builder is used for creating an value of temperature versus time as per the given condition, the time which is in degree celsius is converted into degree kelvin and the same value has been configured in the signal, since in the question it has been mentioned that for till 25 degree celsius it should be ON condition, off other wise so,by converted degree celsius to kelvin we will get 298 degree kelvin by using a constant block we need to run the model, the output from the thermistor is of 0.01189 thershold.the same constant number 0.01189 thershold frequency should be manually entered to the thershold frequency of the switch. The motor is configured just to know the rotationed speed in rpm,The controlled temperature signal is received from the signal builder and it is passed to an thermistor and with a help of switch from the above mentioned condition we can obseve from the scope of an switch, that switch is ON if the temperature above 25 °C, OFF otherwise. The resultant graph obtained from the switch is attached in the below file please go through it by this we are successfully illustrated the mentioned condition.
