Challenge

Week -2

Aim :

  1. Make a Simulink model of Doorbell using solenoid block with the following details
  2. Use a thermistor to sense the temperature of a heater & turn on or turn off the fan as per the below conditions

Challange 1 :

  1. Make a Simulink model of Doorbell using solenoid block with the following details

In the above arrangement, when the switch is closed the electromagnet receives electrical power from the battery and pulls the metal arm to hit the bell producing sound.

Create a situation where the switch is closed for 2 seconds and then released. Observe the physical movement of the plunger.

> Firstly we need to understand the theorey behind the door bell mechanicm and then we need to simulate the simulink model by using the simulink.

> In the mechanism of the door bell theorey there are coponents like bell, switch, solenoid(a wire that act like a magnet while carrying the electric current) and a battery.

Working of door bell :

>When we press a doorbell button, we complete an electrical circuit that allows household electricity will flow through the doorbell internal electromagnet.

>The magnetic field generated by the electromagnet is then used to power a mechanism that creates the doorbell sound. Doorbells are low-voltage devices.

Output of the simulink model :

Challange 2 :

2. Use a thermistor to sense the temperature of a heater & turn on or turn off the fan as per the below conditions

> Thermistors, derived from the term thermaIly sensitive resistors, are a very accurate and cost- effective sensor for measuring temperature.

> Now we will discuss the one example i.e thermistors measurecooling water and oil temperatures, and also monitoring exhaust gas temperature and keeping passengers comfortable in car
