Week -2
Aim:
- To build a Simulink doorbell model using solenoid block.
- To build a model using a thermistor to sense the heat, if the temperature is above 25 c fan should be on otherwise it should be off.
Procedure:
Simulink Doorbell model
- From the Simulink library extract the pulse generator and switch in order to give the condition to the switch that is switch should be off for 2 sec.
- Extract the solenoid block which is connected to the battery, when current flows it creates an electromagnetic force which in turn helps the plunger to move linearly. This Linear motion can be traced by using an ideal Translational motion sensor connected to it.
- Final results can be analyzed using a scope block connected to the output signal.
Result:

Simulink model using a Thermister:
Procedure:
- Extract the signal builder block and temperature-controlled source to create the input signal to be given to temperature-controlled source.
- Use the thermister block, resister block and connect these blocks to the Dc-voltage source and connect the voltage sensor in order to trace the voltage.
- Connect the output voltage signal to the switch based on the threshold value given to the switch. The switch will operate on this value to be on or off.
- Finally using scope block analyze the signals generated.
