1)

AIM:

make a Simulink model of DOORBELL using a solenoid block.

OBJECTIVE:

Create a situation where the switch is closed for 2sec and then released. observe the physical movement of the plunger.

BLOCKS USING FOR DOORBELL:

solenoid

pulse generator

SPST switch

battery

ideal translation motion sensor

scope

electrical reference

mechanical reference

solver configuration

Simulink PS converter

PS Simulink converter

PROCEDURE:

for simulation, we need to produce the sound in the doorbell when the switch is ON.

now we need to use a solenoid in setup to provide an electromagnet that moves the plunger and hits the bell and produce sound for 2 sec and then stop.

we use a pulse generator to move the plunger for 2 sec and stops. we need to configure the parameter in the pulse generator like amplitude, width, period to get desired output.

Simulink to physical signal converter is used.

the battery is connected to provide the current to the circuit with a switch so that it will be on/off on a particular signal.

solver configuration helps to understand the type of system and as per solve.

to understand motion in a mechanical translational network, we use an ideal translation motion sensor to understand the motion of the plunger.

to get the output we use scope, bypassing the signal through ps Simulink converter.

in last we need a reference for ground the circuits. here mechanical translation reference and electrical reference are used.

BLOCK PARAMETERS OF SOLENOID:

OUTPUT(CONCLUSION):

From the graph, we can conclude that the plunger is moving from its initial position of 5mm with a time delay of 2 sec and then rings a bell by hitting the bell on reaching the 0mm position for 2 sec between 2-4sec and then it goes to do this again and again for 20sec.

2)

AIM:

using a thermistor to sense the temperature of a heater and made a model to turn on and off the fan.

OBJECTIVE:

make a Simulink model to turn on and turn off the fan by using a thermistor.

CONDITION-temperature source 293K from 0 to 10sec, 300K from 10 to 30sec, 296K from 30 to 50sec.

FAN CONDITION: ON if the temperature is above 298K, OFF otherwise.

BLOCKS USING FOR DOORBELL:

signal builder

display

resistor

thermistor

voltage sensor

controlled temperature source

switch

battery

scope

electrical reference

thermal reference

solver configuration

Simulink PS converter

PS Simulink converter

PROCEDURE:

Here, we use a thermistor for this Simulink model.

as per the given conditions for temperature and time (293K from 0 to 10sec, 300K from 10 to 30sec, 296K from 30 to 50sec).

signal builder is shown below. these values are provided as input signals.

now passing the signal of signal builder through Simulink PS converter to the thermistor, we need to add control temperature source in between, as thermistor will not understand as input as it is.

thermal reference is connected with the control temperature source.

now the battery is connected to run the circuit, a solver is also connected to understand the system.

the voltage sensor is connected across the resistor to measure voltage value as the threshold value for the condition of our value.

to fulfill the fan condition we add a switch and provide threshold value and giving condition as shown below.

OUTPUT(CONCLUSION):

from the graph, we can conclude that when the temperature is 293K the fan will OFF for 10sec when the temperature is 300K the fan will be ON for 20sec and when the temperature is 296K the fan will OFF for 20sec.
