Week 12-Creation of 1D Connectors Challenge
OBJECTIVE: For the given model the meshing has to be done as per the given criteria and do the specified connections.
PROCEDURE:
- First the model is imported into the HYPERMESH and then based on the given names we have to rename them.
- Then we have to mesh all the components and set the quality criteria based on the given quality parameters.
- After doing the meshing the element failures has to be checked and fix them by using the rebuild mesh.
- After clearing all the element failures we need to do the connections.
- For the right trial 2 and front truss 1 we need to do the seam quad(angled-capped-L).
- For Left trial 2 and front truss 1 we have to use quad type of connection.
- For front truss 1 and 2 and right trial 1 is connected with the spot weld with two layers and 5mm diameter.
- For front truss 1 and 2 and right trial 1 is connected with the hexa(adhesive).
- Rear truss 2 and right trial 1 & Rear truss 2 and left trial 1 are connected with bolt connections.
- Right trial 1 and right trial 2 & left trail 1 and left trial 2 are connected using the spot weld with rigid and spring respectively.
LEARNING OUTCOMES: I have learned how to do the different connections types in this challenge.
CONCLUSIONS: For the given model the meshing has to be done for all the components and then the connections has to be made according to the given connection type for the respective components.
