Week 11 - Project - A pillar Design with Master Section

Aim: To create the B and C surfaces from the given surface and B side features with the master section provided.

Introduction: The A-pillar in a car is a structural component that forms the front part of the vehicle's passenger compartment. It's situated on both sides of the windshield, running from the vehicle's roof to the front of the car's body or frame. The A-pillar provides support for the roof and also serves as a mounting point for the front doors.

Tooling axis: The tooling axis is created using the bisecting method. Two extracts are created from the master section and a bisecting line is created at the mid-point

B and C surfaces: B surface is created by off-setting the given surface by a distance of 2.5mm. C surface is created by sweeping along the tooling direction with a minimum angle of 3 degrees.

Dog house:

Dog house is an engineering feature in which locators, screw bosses can be attached. It is created following the given master section
