Week-11 Challenge: Braking
Question 1:
I am EV Fasttrack batch 13 student

Question 2:
Explanation:
- Back emf of the motor is low hence input current is allowed to rise. It is mainly used to increase the kinetic energy of the load.
- After attaining the rated speed, back emf of the motor is high, therefore current cannot be increased beyond that limit.
- During braking operation, the direction of rotation of motor is in the reverse direction which limits its operation
- The desirable braking system of vehicle is that it must be stopped or even reduce the speed when brakes are applied.
- If the charging limit of the battery is less than the regenerative power requirement then mechanical brake
- Control strategies must be defined in such a way to ensure good braking performance
- During regeneration Electric driven brake combines both mechanical and electrical brake where at low-speed regeneration is used and at high-speed combination of mechanical and regeneration is used.
Electric braking system
- In an electrical braking the winding of the motor is used to produce a braking torque. A braking torque is developed during the braking operation.
- This braking torque opposes the motion of the rotating shaft. The electrical connection of the motor
Mechanical braking system
- Mechanical braking the frictional force between the rotating parts and the brake drums produces the braking.
- Brake linings and brake drums are required. Electrical or mechanical the braking of the driver should stop the motor at the point of time
