Week 10 Challenge
In this week it is required to find the back pressure, mach number and flare header size for a flare network.
To do this it is required to first develop a flare network in Aspen flare Analyser and then input various isometric details about the tail Pipes, sub headers and main headers. Details are also required of any valves or PSV's present in the network and also the composition of the working fluid. After filling in all the relevant details a sizing case is selected and the network is run for results. The details can be found in results tab.
The Flare Network for the current question is shwon below:
As it is seen from the image at the top there is a PSV attached to a tail pipe. The tail pipe is further attached to a sub header via a connector and the sub header is attached to the main header via a TEE junction. At the bottom there is a blowdown valve with connections similar to the PSV until the main header. Now, the main header 2 is connected to a horizontal flare KO drum wherr the vapor line is connected to the Flare via a main header.
The individual details for the PSV and the blowdown valve are considered as per the question. The isometric details of the tail-pipes, sub headers and main headers are considered as per the question. Two scenarios are respectively considered for the given, an operating scenario and a fire case acenario. The sizing of the headers and pipes is done accordingly so that it is suited to all the scenarios.
NOTE: Since, the details which have been asked are generated after the run is completed and the details are shown in table format which have too many rows and hence cant be properly captured in an image. Hence, i have attached the save file of the Flare System Analyser software for proper evaluation.
