Week 10 - Challenge 3 - Door Trim Lower with Engineering Features
CLASS A: Class A is given as CAT Part.
CLASS B: To create the class B surface I have taken an offset of 3mm from the class A surface. Now I got unjoined surfaces. I joined those surfaces by using the join command. first, I removed the remaining fillets and extracted the surfaces by taking the boundary I used to extrapolate it. then I trimmed both surfaces and gave a fillet to it. likewise, I used the same technique to join the remaining two surfaces. Finally, I got surface B as output.
CLASS C: Take class A surfaces as input and create the boundaries. then use sweep with reference with the surface command to make it extended. then first join the outer sweeps together. Then create a boundary from class A for the center profile. here I used the sweep command but I got unjoined surfaces.so I used to sweep both sides and trimmed with a Class A surface. Now join the all sweep together with class A surfaces. By using the intersection command we have to check whether there is a gap between two surfaces. I joined all gaps by taking the boundary of it and extrapolating those boundaries to close those gaps. finally, trim both surfaces to create the closed component. Then thicken the component.
CREATION OF LOCATORS: I extracted the surface to create a point and plane. then by using positioned sketch create locators of a length of 15mm. by using the pad command we can create locators .then copy the locater and translate it. So now I got two locators. also, we have to use draft and fillet commands.
CREATION OF HEAT STAKES: create outer dia as 7mm and inner dia as 5mm. By using the pad command we can create heat stakes. then use point-to-point translation command to create the heat stakes to the required positions. then use draft and fillet commands to heat stakes.
CREATION OF RIBS: copy the heat stakes sketch and paste it into the new geometrical set. Create the ribs by using the positioned sketch.use draft and fillet commend for the ribs. then translate the ribs using point-to-point translation. then keep the required faces and remove Unwanted faces by union trim.
FINALLY, I GOT A CLOSED COMPONENT WITH RIBS, LOCATERS, AND HEAT STAKES IN IT................ REFERENCES IMAGES AND FILES ARE ATTACHED BELOW.
