Week 10 - Challenge 1- Attachment Feature Creation (Ribs & Screw Boss)

Aim: - To Create A Drill Door handle From Class A and Make Eng. Feature Screw Boss and Ribs.

Software Used : - Catia V5

Technique Used : - Surface Design, Boolean Opreation,Draft anaylisis

Theory :- Class A

Class A surface refers to those surfaces which are VISIBLE and abide by the physical meaning, of a product. This classification is primarily used in the automotive and increasingly in consumer goods (toothbrushes, PalmPCs, mobile phones, washing machines, toilet lids, etc.).

Class B

This Surface is the offset of Class A to the extend of the tickness of product. for example if the thickness of product is 3mm then Class B is 3 mm offset from Class A. (the red one is Class B in below image)

Class C

The Connecting Surface from Class A to Class B is Class C. Firstly Class C is Joined with Class A the Treimed With Class B.

(the pink one is Class C)

The Final Product is Created by making this surface into Close Body.

Tooling Axis :-

Tooling axis is created to detrmine the postion in mold. with tooling axis we can determin the class C Draft .

Draft Anaylisis.

Draft analysis is performed on the components where the ejection of materials happens after the material is made inside the tools. In the case of Automotive Sheet Metal manufacturing, the blank sheet after turning into automotive panels like Hood, Fender, Roof, Side Doors, Back Doors etc

Engneering Features.

Engneering Features like ribs,Screw boss , Dog house are created to make that part assemble in other body.

For this Door we have create 2- Ribs and 2- Screw Bosses.
