Week 1 Spur Gear Challenge
In this challenge , we will simulate the analysis for 2 spur gears
model : spur gears have been defined by position(i.e. left or right)

meshing: global meshing of 1mm has been given

Contacts:
frictional contact
symmetric behaviour
augmented lagrange formulation
adjust to touch interface treatment

Revolute joints have been given to both gears

Analysis setting has been done as per inserted image

Joints loads:
Spur left has been a tabular rotation of 30 to 180 degree
spur right have been given a moment of 10Nm

CASE 1 :
Materials - Cast iron ductile
equivalent stress - 342.09MPa

total deformation - 30 mm

stress intensity - 357.74MPa

CASE 2 :
material - CAST STEEL
equivalent stress - 347.33MPa

total deformation - 30 mm

stress intensity - 365.09MPa

CASE 3:
material - bronze_cast
equivalent stress - 330.25MPa

total deformation - 30mm

stress intensity - 350.45MPa

conclusion
| equivalent stress(MPa) | total deformation(mm) | stress intensity(MPa) | |
| cast_iron_ductile | 342.09 | 30 | 357.74 |
| cast_steel | 347.33 | 30 | 365.09 |
| bronze_cast | 330.25 | 30 | 350.45 |
We should consider bronze cast as its stress intensity at a crack tip is low as compared to other materials , which is a measure of stress concentration at a possible fracture point.
low stress intensity value lead to high life.
