Week 1- Mixing Tee
CASE 1:
- Mixing Tee_ Shorter length:
Input:
- Short mixing tee with a hot inlet velocity of 3m/s.
- Momentum ratio of 2, 4.
- Short mixing tee with cold inlet velocity = 7.2 m/s (2.4=x/3)
- Use the k-epsilon model
- Hot inlet temperature is 36 C & the Cold inlet is at 19 C.
CASE 2:
- Mixing Tee_ Longer length:
Input:
- Short mixing tee with a hot inlet velocity of 3m/s.
- Momentum ratio of 2, 4.
- Short mixing tee with cold inlet velocity = 7.2 m/s (2.4=x/3)
- Use k-omega SST model
- Hot inlet temperature is 36 C & the Cold inlet is at 19 C.

- Perform Mesh independent study for any one case
Study for Longer length Tee:
Temperature @ 2mm mesh: 26-28 C
Velocity @ 2mm mesh: 5.25 m/s
Temperature @ 5mm mesh: 29.5 C
Velocity @ 5 mm mesh: 5m/s
4. Discuss the effect of length and momentum ratio on results.
Longer length Tee has good mixing ratio. From above fig it shows temperature distribution and velocity distribution of hot and clod gasses mixed over the longer length tee.
