Week 1- Mixing Tee

1. Title – Mixing Tee Diff Cases

Case 1 (A)

k-epsilon

inlet temp atm=360 c

inlet cold air = 190c

Hot air velocity V(x)=3m/s

Cold air inlet velocity V(y)= 6m/s

Iterations 150

Outlet temp = 30.364

Outlet velocity = 4.5 m/s

Case 1 (A) Changing Element Size

k-epsilon

inlet temp atm=360 c

inlet cold air = 190c

Hot air velocity V(x)=3m/s

Cold air inlet velocity V(y)= 6m/s

Iterations 150

Element Size = 0.003

Outlet temp = 30.47

Outlet velocity= 4.49m/s

Case 1 (B)

k-omega

inlet temp atm=360 c

inlet cold air = 190c

Hot air velocity V(x)=3 m/s

Cold air inlet velocity V(y)= 12 m/s

Iterations 150

Outlet temp = 27.727

Outlet velocity =6.04 m/s

Case 2(A)

k-epsilon

inlet temp atm=360 c

inlet cold air = 190c

Hot air velocity V(x)=3m/s

Cold air inlet velocity V(y)= 6m/s

Iterations 300

Outlet Temp= 303.411k

Case 2 (B)

k-omega

inlet temp atm=360 c

inlet cold air = 190c

Hot air velocity V(x)=3 m/s

Cold air inlet velocity V(y)= 12 m/s

Iterations 300

Outlet Temp = 300.644 k

Concluision =

1.Here found that Decraese in the cell size will give the better result.

2.In 2nd case long pipe is not sutable for the our main objective.

3.K-omega and k-epsilon have the almost same results but k epsilon is give result in better manner.

4. When we double the inlet cold air velocity give the acceptable result.
