Usage of Collaborate tool in REVIT

Q1)

AIM: Open an architectural template. Using the Manage tab set project base point and project shared coordinates for the project.

PROCEDURE:

1.open the architectural template.

2.save the project file as architectural template.

3.Now select grids from the architecture tab and draw horizontal and vertical grids.

4.Now go to the manage tab and select specify co ordinates at a point and select both the grid lines on e by one and set them to 0'0''.

5. The project base point is fixed in architectural template.

RESULT:

Q2)

AIM : Open another new file but with a structural template. Using the manage tab set project parameters the same as the architectural model. Copy the parameters from the architectural model to the structural template or enter the parameters manually into the structural model.

PROCEDURE:

1.open the structural template.

2. save the project file as structural template.

3. now select grids from the structure tab and draw horizontal and vertical grids.

4. now go to the manage tab and select specify co ordinates at a point and select both the grid lines on e by one and set them to 0'0''.

5. The project base point is fixed in structural template.

RESULT:

Q3)

AIM: Re-open the architectural model. Using the tools under the Collaborate tab make the architectural model a central model (enabling simultaneous working on the model).

PROCEDURE:

1.open the architectural project file you saved in the previous question.

2. now go to the collaborate tab and click collaborate ,cursor will start to load and a dialogue box appears as shown below, select the option within your network.

3. after clicking ok, a pop appears as shown below,if you click yes ,central file will be formed
and saved.

Q4)

AIM:Create the Grids Longitudinal and Transverse pattern for the project similar to the task done in Week 2.

PROCEDURE:

1. The architectural tab and select grids.

2. Draw a vertical grid and take the offset of 30' and start drawing grids.

3. Now draw a horizontal grid and maintan offset of 30' and start drawing horizontal grids.

4. In this way a attern of longitudinal and transverse grids is created.

RESULT:

Q5)
AIM : Synchronize the changes from the local copy to the central file of the architectural model.

PROCEDURE:

1. open the architectural model from open command .

2. Go to the collaborate option and select synchronize with central.

3. file will be synchronize changes from local copy to central file.

Q6)

AIM:Open the structural model and use the collaborate tools to save the model as a central file.

PROCEDURE:

1. open the architectural template ,select structure from the ribbon.

2. now go to the collaborate tab and click collaborate ,cursor will start to load.

3. and a dialogue box appears as shown below, select the option within your network.

4. and a pop appears which asks whether to make this file a central file.

5. after clicking yes, file will be saved as central file.

Q7)

AIM :Under the Collaborate tab, select the grids and levels from the architectural model, and using Copy Monitor try to copy the grids to the structural model. See what happens when the copy monitored grid is moved around in the structural model.

PROCEDURE:

1. open revit ans with the help of open command, open architectural template.

2. go to the manage tab and link the structural model.

3. go to the collaborate tab and select copy monitor tab and click on select link.

4. select grids and copy them and click on finish command.

Q8)

AIM: Create another new file with a construction template. Save the new file as a central model. This file will include both architectural and structural model. Under the manage tab, Click manage links to link both architectural and structural files. Save the file and close all the files.

PROCEDURE:

1. open the constructional template and make it as central file using collaborate.

2. Now go to the manage option and select manage links and add both the architectural and structural model click ok, save the file and close the file.

3. A new central file is created and both architectural and structural models are linked.

Q9)

AIM : Are the grids from structural and architectural model matching in the construction template created? If yes the model is set up for project 2. If not work on the shared parameters and linking options under Manage links
( Hint: origin to origin, by shared coordinates or by project base point to base point ) to link the models in an appropriate manner

PROCEDURE:

1. Open the constructional model using open command.

2. Go to the manage tab and select the model, select the project location marked.

3. since they are not matching click on the relocate and click on intersection point of grids.

4. Elements of both the model appear in the construction model itself.

Q10) List a flow chart of a project tree set up in terms of Construction model, Architecture & Structure model, in this exercise and understand how many people can work on the same project using Revit simultaneously.
