Underbody Coating

Car Underbody Coating:

It is a defensive layer that is applied to the underboy of the car, which prevents rusting.

It is a resilient coating applied under the car.While driving the underbody is more easily damaged sooner due to the grains and other stuffs on road.This causes damage of exhaust pipe and also other parts to rust which gradually leads to corotions .Hence we apply this coating to protect the underbody of the car from rusting and other damages .

Purpose:

Its purpose is to reduce rusting in underbody and other factors which leads to corrotion.

Types:

• Rubberized Underbody Coating:

It is a rubberized coating which is either spayed or painted.It is easy to apply .It also acts as a noise reduction base.It also prevents moisture seeps etc.,

• Wax Based Underbody Coating:

A paraffin based coating is the checppest and quickest undercoating . But it is a temporary coating. It is usually applied as a spray,but it wear off easily.

• Asphault based Underbody Coating:

It is usually used in heavy vehicles which provides sufficient protection.It is usually a rubberized material which sets up firmly.It takes time to set up and it cannot be applied as a paint.

• Polyurethene Underboady Coating:

It is usually bought as a cannister which is applied using application gun. It is easily applied but it takes time to harden.It also protecs from humidy and other factors leading to rust.

Advantages:

• Reduces Rust:

This mostly helps during rainy season and if living near sea area. Because the Undercoating helps by reducing the contact of moisture on the surface of underbody directly, which reduces rusting.

• Noise absorbtion:

This Coating reduces vibration , which leads to reducing certain level of noise.

• Reinforcement:

The coating acts as a protective layer on the surface of the underbody.

• Increase of Cars Life:

Since it acts as a protective layer and Corossion resistance layer this helps in increase of the life of the car.

Disadvantages:

It cant be applied to the base where it is already corroded.It can be applied only after removing corossion.

If it needs to be applied to a already corodded base it takes time and the cost to aplly is high.
