UNDERBODY COATING
Coating provided under the vehicle for protection against external elements, Like chipping due to rock fragments, it also protects against corrosion and also provides sound deadening. There are different types of underbody coating like, rubberized underbody coating, wax based underboady coating, asphalt based underbody coating and polyurethane based underboady coating.
1.Rubberised Underbody Coating
Uses rubberized material to coat the underside of the car. It is long lasting and easy to apply, It also provides good protection
2.Wax based underbody coating
This is a temporary coating that will wear away in a few months. wax-based undercoating fights against moisture. It is also the most affordable type of underbody coating
3. Asphalt based underbody coating
It uses asphalt material for the coating. It is mostly used for lorries and trucks and offroad vehicles. It also has rubber to provide sound insulation. It is harder to apply than other coatings.
4. Polyurethane Underbody coating.
It is best suited for use on already rough underbodies as it closes up splits and fractures on the underbody of the vehicle. It offers up good protection against corrosion and also bonds with the metal. It can also be painted over.
