Tool Test 1
switch panel and sheet metal component
AIM: to create 2D mesh for a switch panel and a sheet metal component with the given element quality criteria and to the shell element using ansa.
METHODOLOGY:
geometry cleanup: In mesh tab, perimeter length of all the edges are changed to 1mm. the model is performed with topo operation to view single, double and triple cons.the switch panel geometry is checked for all topological error using fix option the error are rectified automatically.
midsurface extraction: As the thickness of each part in the geometry seems to be very less, it is better to go for 3D meshing. thickness of each area is measured to perform mid-surface extraction.while creating mid-surfacing for each part itself ,relevant thickness is assigned using pshell property.
the thickness of part is measured then and there for creating mid-surface.
assigning suitable PID
meshing as per criteria: In order to maintain good mesh flow and capture features perfectly, batch meshing is performed.
batch meshing is well organised way of meshing complex component . it is a fast process and reduces human effort the geometry faces are divided in areas of complex region using cut and project cut option . the area of poor mesh quality are fixed using reconstruct and smooth options.
the meshed element are viewed in 3Dusing draw shell as solid option from presentation tab.
CONCLUSION:
Thus the switch panel component and sheet metal component are performed with geomentry cleanup, midsurface extraction ,meshing as per criteria and thickness property assignment using ANSA.
