Procedure:
Model 1:Switch Panel
- Import CAD model
- Perform Topology and check for geometrical errors like triple cons, single cons, needle cons and fix the errors
- The switch panel has various features and thickness is not uniform throughout the model so mid surface needs to be extracted part by part
- Seperate PIDs needs to be assigned for parts with varying thickness
- The options present under Faces in Topo Module buttons are used for extracting mid surface
- Once mid surface is eady, the meshing is done by using best mesh or batch mesh
- Quality criteria and mesh parameters are assigned as given and elements which fails for the quality are observed in hidden mode
- Mesh is reconstructed or regenerated so as to bring off elements and trias to minimum
Model 2: Platic component
- Import CAD model
- Perform Topology and check for geometrical errors like triple cons, single cons, needle cons and fix the errors
- The component is a sheet panel of uniform thickness throughout the body
- Mid surface is extracted by offset command and a property ID is assigned to it and mesh is generated by best mesh option
- Quality criteria and mesh parameters are assigned as given and elements which fails for the quality are observed in hidden mode
- There are so many features present in the given model and the mesh around them needs to be regenerated properly to avoid the quality errors
- Mesh is reconstructed or regenerated so as to bring off elements and trias to minimum
Learning Outcomes:
It is observed that it is necessary to compromise on quality so as to capture featues in mesh generation.
Conclusion:
Mesh is generated for both the switch panel and sheet component models

It took around 6hrs for switch panel and 4 hours for sheet panel component for mesh generation
