Sketch a G+1 residential plan according to Vaastu Shastra and Calculation of Loads as per IS code

AIM:-

To draw a sketch G+1 floor residential plan, according to vaastu shastra & list of structure drawing required in site construction.Calculation of structural member load as per IS code.

INTRODUCTION:-

Vaastu Shastra -

The Vastu shastra is the ancient indian science of architecture & act as a guideline to design the home in the way that enhances positive energy. In nature is abundant with power houses of energy sources like sun, wind, moon, earth, water & fire. A good home needs to radiate the right kind of energy.

Four cordiant direction are -

  • North - Wealth.
  • South - Dharma.
  • East - Over all prosperty.
  • West - Over all prosperty.

Best Place -

  • North - Entarance .
  • North-West - Living.
  • North-East - Pooja room.
  • South-East - Kitchen.
  • South-West - Storge.

This are basic vaastu shasta in home keep use of four cordiant in proper way.It wiil creat good postivity in home.

Structure Diagram -

The Structural diagram are design by design engineer with calculation of load.It is the vital role to execution in construction. Diagram must to be GFC (Good for construction).Calculation load for members in structure.

Important structural diagram for a project -

  • Centre line drawing
  • Footing & column layout with reinforcement details.
  • Column schedule with reinforcement details.
  • Plinth beam layout with reinforcement details.
  • First floor beam layout with reinforcement details.
  • First floor slab layout with reinforcement details.
  • Lift pit & headroom reinforcement details.

PROCEDURE:-

Gateway - Main door should be constructed in a way to ensure that when you step out you to face the north. Teak wood is most preferably for main rood wood or we can also use alternative best woods. best direction for entarance are - North,North-East,East,South of South-East & West of North-west.

Living room - Living room must be cluster free & it is place where the family spend most of time together. In Living room basic material which should be kept is correct facing & direction are -

  • Living room - East,North or North-East
  • Heavy furniture - West or south-West.
  • Electronic appliances - South-East
  • Mirror - Noth wall
  • Aquarium - North or East wall

Bed room - Bedroom are place for rest & repose it good to have soothing wall colour for a peaceful life. South-West direction is bring good health & prosperety.never sleep your head in north.using aromatics oil create oasis calm.

Pooja room - East or North-East part of home is perfect for yoga & speritual pursuits.white, beige or a light yellow or green colour optains for meditation room.

Kitchen - Keep water sink away from the gas stove. Never let your kitchen face a washroom wall or share a common wall with it.

Study room - Dont place table facing a blank wall.Hanging book shelves are need to avoid.

Court yard - Brahmastrhan is a unique feature of ancient architecture based on vaastu shastra. It is centre of home & holiest more powerfull zone. This area must be perfect & cluster free.the placement of kitchen ,bathroom,piller/beam attracts negative energy.

Note -Sketch G+1 scan copy is attached in file for your perusal.

Calculation of Load in structure for each member as per IS code - (IS875-1987)

The load calculation in a structure are broadly classified into two type are

  • Vertical load - 1.Dead load,2.live load,3.Snow load
  • Horizontal load - 1.Wind load,2.seismic load,3.temperature load

We calculate the 3 major load this load are design by as per IS code are

Dead load - dead calculation is based on IS code 875:1987 part -01. in this code book.these are permanent load acting on a structure throught their life span.these are stationary load that occur mainly due to self weight of structure.

s.no

Material Unit weight of material
1 PCC -plain cement concrete 24KN/M^3
2 RCC -reinforced cement concrete 25KN/M^3
3 structural steel 78.5KN/M^3
4 Brick masonry 20KN/M^3
5 stone masonry 24KN/M^3
6 floor finish 0.6 -1.2KN/M^3

Dead load calculation -

Column size - (0.40X0.40M)

Height of building - 3.5M

Dead load of column = 0.40x0.40x3.5M

= 0.56 M^3 unit weight of RCC -25KN/M^3

= 0.56 M^3 X 25 KN/M^3

= 14 KN for a each column.

Dead lood of beam = 0.3x0.45M

= 0.135 M^2 unit weight of RCC -25KN/M^3

= 0.135 N^2 X 25 KN/M^3

= 3.375 KN/M

Dead load of Slab = 0.15x1M

= 0.15 M^2 unit weight of RCC -25KN/M^3

= 0.15 M^2 X 25 KN/M^3

= 3.75 KN/M

Dead load for brick masnory = 0.23x3.5M (outer wall)

= 0.805 M^2 unit weight of Brick masnory - 20KN/M^3

= 0.805 M^2 X 20 KN/M^3

= 16.00 KN/M

= 0.11x3.5M (inner wall)

= 0.385 M^2 unit weight of Brick masnory - 20KN/M^3

= 0.385 M^2 X 20 KN/M^3

= 7.7 KN/M

Live load - It is real-time load.they are also called as imposed load or sudden load.live load include the weight of furniture people occupancy etc.live load details are design need to considered as per IS code IS 875:1987-part-2. this code has clearly mentioned the minimum load to be considered for all type of building according to their occupancy in table -01.

Live load value from IS 875:1987 - Part- 2

  • Bathroom - 1.5 kn/m2
  • Bedroom - 2.0 kn/m2
  • kitchen - 2.0 kn/m2
  • Livingroom - 2.0 kn/m2
  • Dining - 2.0kn/m2
  • Terrace - 3.0 kn/m2
  • Balcony - 3.0kn/m2

Wind load - It is horizontal load,if building is more than10M then need to design for wind load.wind load act horizontal towards walls & roof surface.wind load postive x direction calculated in postive value & negative x direction that opposite direction calculated as negative value.design of wind load based on IS code IS 875:1987-part-3.

Wind load calculation -

There is no need for wind load calculation because of building height is 7.3 M. As per IS code IS 875:1987 Part- 3 when building height is exceed height more than 10M only need to calculate.

RESULT :-

Hence with result building load calculation are calculated as per IS code & sketch G+1 building as per Vaastu shastra is attached.
