Section Modulus calculation and optimization
SECTION MODULUS:
Section modulus is a geometric property for a given cross-section used in the design of beams or flexural members. Other geometric properties used in design include area for tension and shear,radius of gyration for compression, and moment of inertia and polar moment of inertia for stiffness
Also,the section modulus is used to measure the strength of beam or flexural member.if the section modulus is higher,it’s resist more from bending.

FORMULLA:
S=I/Y.
S = Section Modulus
I = Moment of Inertia
y = distance between the neutral axis and the extreme end of the object
STUDY 1:

Moment of inertia(max)=4.903409175*10^6mm^4
Moment of inertia(min)=1.427800589*10^4 mm^4
Y=880.83/2=440.41mm.
S=I/Y=4.903409175*10^6 mm^4/440.41mm
=11133.73mm^3
STUDY 2:

By increasing the 0.5 depth of inner panel,we make strenghten that part.
Moment of inertia(max)=4.895503084*10^6mm^4
Moment of inertia(min)=1.427800589*10^4 mm^4
Y=880.83/2=440.41mm.
S=I/Y=4.903409175*10^6 mm^4/440.41mm
=11115.78mm^3
conclusion:
so,here the difference can be seen in moment of inertia and as well as section modulus.we make a part more strenghten by section modulus and optimization.
