Section Modulus calculation and optimization

Section modulus is a geometric property for a given cross-section used in the design of beams or flexural members. It is a measure of the resistance of the cross-section to bending. Section modulus can be calculated by dividing the moment of inertia of the cross-section by the distance from the neutral axis to the extreme fiber.

First section modulus for the Hood design is
  S=I/Y
where,
    I = Minimum MOI(Moment of Inertia)
      = 2.627911019 mm^4
    Y = total cross section distance/2
      = 876.4678/2
      = 438.2339 mm
then ,
    S = 2.627911019/438.2339
    S = 0.0059965945560 mm^4

After modifying the cross section for improving the Moment of Inertia (MOI) to be improved.
offestting to 0.5mm;the values are:

    S = I/Y
where,
    I = 2.661872378 mm^4
    Y = 876.4678/2
      = 438.2339mm
then,
    S = 2.661872378/438.2339
    S = 0.006074090521 mm^4

Strenth of the Particular Hood is increasing.

I have also tried to modify once more so I got offsetted to another 0.5mm and the results are;

   I = 2.698505274 mm^4
   Y = 876.4678/2
     = 438.2339mm
then,
   S = 2.698505274/438.2339
   S = 0.0061576826302 mm^4

Strenth of the Particular Hood is increasing by varying the MOI (Moment of Inertia).
