Reinforcement detailing of Columns from ETABS output
Aim : Reinforcement detailing of Columns from ETABS output
Procedure:
1. Click on the file given in Question
2. Open and download the file
3. Then Open the ETAB Software
4. And then Import the File

5. Select the File as b2k and then click ok and then ope the file
6. Then select the Plan view and go to the First Floor Plan

7. Now Select Ok and then click Apply
8. Now Run Analysis

9. Now we get the Maximum and minimum Defection at the Bottom left corner
10. Now Click on the Concrete Frame Design
11. Now check the shear reinforcment

12. Now Select the Shear Reinforcement Option in It and then click apply

13. Click on Apply and then Click OK

14. Now check the Detail of Particular Element
15. And now Click on the Detail Tab
16. And now Click on Shear Details
Maximum Ast at bottom support is 1927mm²
Maximum Ast at Top support is 2027 mm²
Additional bar of 25 mm diameter to satisfies the overall Ast
2 x T32 = 1608 mm²
1 x T25 = 490 mm²
2 x T32 = 1608 mm²
1 x T25 = 490 mm² .
17. For the shear Details Click on the Beam

18. We have Provide spacing till 2d from face of column is 100 (According to Clause 6.3.3)
19. Now we can provide 3 legged stirrups with 10mm Diameter with 100 mm spacing
20. Now the Maximum At at bottom support 1501mm2
And Maximum At at the Top Support 1940 mm2
21. For Shear Details Right Click on Details

22. We have Provide spacing till 2d from face of column is 100 (According to Clause 6.3.3)
23. Now we can provide 3 legged stirrups with 10mm Diameter with 100 mm spacing

24. Now Check for the Sway shear

- From Etabs Model results substitute the value -
- VuD+L =92 Kn
- Mas = 176 kn.m
- Mbh = 295 kn
- Lab = 4.725 m
- Put this value in above eqn we get,
- Vu,a = 48 Kn
- Vu,b = 230 Kn
24. Shear capacity in Beam According to IS 456 - 2002

- Put the values
- Fy = 415 N/mm2
- Asv =151 mm2
- Spacing = 100 mm
- d = 450 mm
- put this value in above equection , we get
- Vus) = 246 … > 230 kn (Shear sway) .............(Hence Safe)

Comclusion : Hence Challenege 8 is Complete
