Reinforcement Detailing of Beams from ETABS output
Aim
Detailed design of Concrete building given In the attachment.
Calculate the value of Maximum shear force using manual calculation and compare it with Etabs software.
Provide the reason behind the failure of middle span Beam and possible way to solve the issue.
Detail design of beams in Etabs 2018.
Procedure.
Firstly, we have to download the ETABS attached file.
Open the Etabs file In 2018 or update version.

Now. We have to check the load combination accordingly.
Then analyse the structure.

Now the analysis is done after analysis We go through the design process.
Now by selecting the design. Click on the design option.
Now there is a drop down option. Display design info option. Click on that.
Click on the display option. End. Click on the longitudinal reinforcement design output. And click okay.
Now, the longitudinal reinforcement. Number is shown in the display option.
We have to draw in the AutoCAD software, According to the output of the longitudinal reinforcement.
The output are shown in the below image
The below picture is for grid A

The below picture is for grid 3

Middle span along grid A
The reason behind the failure Of the beam is as they mentioned in the Etabs report.
The shear stress exceeds the maximum allowable shear force.

And the second reason behind the failure of the beam.
Capacity design force + gravity design force is not = Equivalent design forces.
is shown in the image below

By increasing the shear reinforcement in the beam this failure can you be resolved.
And by decreasing the spacing between the stirrups.
And by increasing the size of beam.
Calculate value of the maximum shear force as per clause 6.3.3 (b) in IS 13920 – 2016. and compare it with the Etabs software report generated.
Selcting the beam

the shear force value on both the ends of the beam

calculating the Shear force As per IS-13920 code.

We have decrese the spacing of the strips accordingly to that of thr design criteria. (as shown below)

Result.
Calculate value of the maximum shear force as per clause 6.3.3 (b) in IS 13920 – 2016.
Also provide the possible ways of the middle beam failure issue can be resolved.
Provide details of longitudinal and shear reinforcement for the two continuous beams.
