Radar Mast & Final Assembly of Yacht

Report on yatch is givren below:

Design of Yacht

  • The main objective of this project is to understand and implement various features of solidworks and create 3D model of yacht.
  • Creating different parts and assembling of same.
  • Apply different appearances to various parts.
  • Rendering of model from different views and setting up different environments for the same.

Introduction

The design of yacht was created with help of e-book. By using various sketches and features modeling was done. Designing of this model covers almost every feature in solidworks.

Process Flow chart is given below:

Process

  • First of all inserting and set up of blueprints was done to create yacht model. After this process modeling of hull was done.
  • Following e-book radar, radar mast, garage door, super structure, front/middle and last seat were created accordingly.
  • Assembly of parts to prepare a complete yacht model.

Description:

This model consists of parts given below:

  • Propeller
  • Radar
  • Garage Door
  • Hull
  • Superstructure
  • Radar mast
  • Front, middle and rear seat

Features used for design are elaborated below:

  • Sketch: Used to apply dimension and relation to define basic geometry.Basically two types of sketches are used : 2D sketch and 3D sketch
  • Features: It contains extrude bose, swept boss, cut exclude, mirror bodies etc.
  • Assembly: It is used to assmeble parts designed and to check mating surfaces and interferance.
  • Rendering: To render the product applying realistic scenario and background set up along with to get basic appearance idea on product ergonomics.

The parts description is given below:

Propeller:

Propeller’s main function is to propel the yacht in forward or reverse direction in water. It is driven by propelling shaft connected to engine.

The images are given below:

Features used to prepare propeller are:

  • Sketch
  • Revolve
  • Cut exclude
  • Lofted boss
  • fillet

Radar:

Its main objective is for tracing of nearby contour or terrain and navigate the vehicle.

The images are given below:

Features that are used:

  • Exclude Boss
  • Cut exclude
  • Mirror of body
  • Sketch driven pattern

Hull:

It is the main body of yacht that supports all the structures and glides over water.

The images are given below:

Features that are used:

  • Surface Swept
  • Extended surface
  • Projected Curve
  • Split Curve
  • Mirror Entities
  • Fillet

Assembly of Yacht

The assembly of yacht was done using parts descripted above.

Various mates were applied to assemble structure.

Image Shown below:

Mates:

  • Concentric
  • Parallel
  • Coincident
  • Distance
  • Plane Parallel

After completion of assembly rendering was done using Solidworks 360 view.

With help of different background and various perspectives rendering was done to create realistic look of yacht.
