DESIGEN AND ASSEMBLY OF YACHT

Aim/Objective:

The objective of these project is to design and model all the parts of Yacht and assembling .with help of solid works .

INTRODUCTION

The SOLID WORKS is a mechanical design application. With help of this application that designer can produce the model .

In these project the YACHT was taken as conceptual model .to understand the 3Dmodelling of the solid modelling and surface modelling .Each and every part of yacht was designed and modelling using SOLID WORKS.after modelling the parts of yacht and parts are assembled with proper mates.

COMANDS AND TOOLS USED WHILE MODELLING THE YACHT

SKETCH: Creating a model is usually start with a sketch. From the sketch we can create the features.from these we can combine several features to make a part

FEATURES: In feature commands some are sketch based commands and some are non sketch based features ( applied features) like fillet, chamfer & shell etc.

SURFACES: Surface modelling is method of creating planar and non planar complex geometry which has zero thickness.the zero thickness geometry known as surface.

SURFACE COMMANDS :

Some of Surface commands used while design and modelling the YACHT

Lofted surface : Lofted surface is creates between two are more profiles or sketch
Boundary surface :Boundary surface is to create the surfaces that can be tangent or curvature continuous in both directions.
Extruded surface : It extrude a sketch or selected sketch counters in one or two directions.to create surface feature.
Revolved surface : it revolves a sketch or selected counters around an axis to create surface feature.
Swept surface : it sweeps a closed profile along an open or closed path to create surface feature.
Filled surface : filled surface is used to patches a surface with in boundary defined by edges ,sketch & curves .
Ruled surface : Inserts Ruled surface in a specified direction from edges. Tangent to the surface,Normal to the surface ,Tappers to the vector can be selected.
Trim surface : It is used o trim the surface where a surface intersect. In a plane or sketch
Knit surface : These Knit surface is used to combine two are adjacent or non intersecting surfaces into one surface.
Move/Copy surface : Move/copy surface about the plane or sketch.
Offset surface :It helps us to create an offset surface with gaps.
Extended surface :Extends one or more edges or faces on surface.based on end conditions and extension type.
Mirror surfaces : A mirror surface feature is a copy of selected feature.it mirrored about plane or planar face.

Propeller :

A Propeller is a one part in the Yacht which is used to move the ship forward.Propeller is fan like structure it produce the trust force from Engine for moving the Yacht.

Radar :

A Radar is a device which is use to detect the obstacles or transmit the signals.Radar use sound wave to detect the obstacles. The Radar is mounted at top of the Radar mast.

HULL :

A hull is watertight body of a ship. The hull may be open at the top . and the hull is covered fully or partially with deck surface.the line where the hull meets the water surface is known as the waterline.

The super structure is mounted on the HULL for driving the boat. It can be useful to carry the loads ,vehicles etc.

In these model while designing hull some other parts are also designed they are like.aft ,anchor,Beam,Berth,Bow,Bridge,cabin,deck,draft,galley,Hatch,starboard and stern .

REAR SEAT :

The Rear seat is placed at the end of the deck surface. The rear seat consists of locker racks steel doors for our stairs and the flag is also placed on it .

FRONT SEAT :

The front seat is placed before the super structure and it has sun pads to rest on it.

MIDDLE SEAT :

Middle seat is placed just behind the super structure.and along with the seat the table also provided.

RADAR MAST :

The Radar mast support the Radar.it consists of antennas, satellite domes and lights. The radar mast is placed on top the super structure .
