Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit
Answer 1-
- Battery - The first purpose of an auto battery is to provide power for starting your vehicle. It also acts as a surge protector for the car's computer and provides power for short-term use of things like lights, stereo, GPS or wipers when the engine is off. The car battery is part of the starting system.
- Starter - The starter has a small starting gear that, when you turn the key or press the engine start button, engages the engine's flywheel. Then it delivers power, getting the engine rotating. This allows it to suck air and fuel into the cylinders and begin the combustion process that allows it to run on its own.
- Generator - An alternator is a type of electric generator used in modern automobiles to charge the battery and to power the electrical system when its engine is running.
- Ammeter - to measure current flow to the battery (under normal conditions) or discharge from the battery (in the case of alternator system failure).
- Ignition Switch - The ignition switch is a more complex electrical component that has to “read” anti-theft coding in the key before it will activate electrical systems in the vehicle so the vehicle can start or allow an automatic transmission to be shifted out of Park.

Answer 3 -
If a total load of the 12v battery is 10A , so the fuse rating should be greater than 10A . It must be 11A or More so it can handle the load .
Answer 4 - Voltage required = 499.92
battery capacity = 500W
Answer 5 - The main components of a battery ignition system are battery, ignition switch, ballast resistor, ignition coil, contact breaker, capacitor, distributor and spark plug. The source of high voltage/energy for the spark plug is the ignition coil, hence it is also called ignition coil system. Following figure shows a diagram of a conventional battery ignition system.
