Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit

1.

battery

starter

breaker

ignition coil

distributor

generator

current and voltage regulator

foot selector switch

ammeter

2.

Battery:

The battery in a vehicle serves as a source of electrical energy to power various components, such as the starter motor, lights, ignition system, and electronic accessories, when the engine is not running.

Starter Motor:

The starter motor is crucial for initiating the engine's combustion process by turning the engine's crankshaft. It provides the necessary mechanical force to start the internal combustion engine.

Ammeter:

An ammeter is an instrument used to measure the current flowing through a circuit. In a vehicle, it provides information about the electrical current drawn by various components, helping monitor the health of the charging system.

In summary, the battery provides electrical energy, the starter motor initiates the engine's operation, and the ammeter measures the current flowing through the vehicle's electrical system. Together, these components play vital roles in the starting and operation of a vehicle's internal combustion engine.

3.

given data - load = 10A

power= v* i

power=12*10 = 120 watt

fuse rating is 25% more than actual power rating.

power fuse rating = 120* 1.25 = 150 watt

i= p/v = 150/12 =12.5 A

4.

power= v*i

500=12*current

current= 500/12=41.67A

capacity= current*time

capacity= 41.67*1Hr = 41.67Ah

5.

Parallel connection

Generator

Current and voltage regulator

as per the above diagram generator with current voltage and regulator are connected in parallel, if two are more components are connected in parallel they have the same difference of potential voltage across their ends.

6.

Series connection

battery - connected in series with high voltage to improve the deliverability and energy efficiency

starter- starter connected in series with battery because same current flows through them.
