Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit
1)
battery
ignition switch
starter
ignition switch
distributor
breaker
generator
ammeter
horn button
light switch
fuse
junction block
current and voltage regulator
foot selector switch
2) battery - it is the energy storing device and it works on converting chemical energy into electrical energy.it has anode, cathode and electrolyte.
generator - it is used to make electricity.it works on converting mechanical energy into electrical energy.it has magnets, coil, commutator, brushes.it's working principle is; when a current carrying conductor moves in an magnetic field;an induced emf isproduced in the coil and current starts moving along the coil.the generated current is moved from coil to commutator and commutator to brush and stored in battery for further use later.
ammeter- it is an instrument used to measure current.it has core, coil, control spring and dial.ammeter can be moving iron or moving coil type.due to the magnetic action; the needle move showing readings from the dial.meanwhilethe movement of the needle is controlled by spring.when the spring force and magnetic force equals ;it stops needle on a particular value in the dial.
3)we know fuse works when current passed above a certain value for circuit ;it breaks or open the circuit.so here 10A is the total load current in this situation.so the fuse rating would be 10A.
4) given total load =500W and total load current = 10A.
we know P=VI
therfore V=P/I =500/10=50V
the voltage of the battery is recommended as 50V and capacity of the battery is 10Ah.
5) horn and horn button are connected in parallel.the wire from the ammeter connects the horn and horn button from the same end.the voltage across the parallel connection would be same.so the horn works exactly at same voltage as horn button.
6) voltage & current regulator and generator are connected in series.the wire after the voltage & current regulator is connected to generator.in series connection;the current would be same in both region.the regulated or controlled current would be entering into the generator.
