Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit
1.Ans: generator, battery, starter, ignition coil, ammeter, foot selector switch, breaker, fuse, current and voltage regulator.
2.Ans: Generator : generator is a device which converts mechnical energy to electrical energy. the electrical energy is distributed to domestic, commerical, and industrial customers.
working : electrical generator work on the principle of electromagnetic induction. a conductor coil is rotated rapidly betwwen the poles of horse-shoe type magnet or magnetic feild. the conductor coil along with its core is known as an armature. the armature is connected to shaft of a mechanical energy soure such as motor and rotated.
Battery : batteries are most important components in this day and it is used in many equipments. in batteries we have both rechargeable and non-rechargeable in which non- rechargeable are not use after thier usage but, rechargeable battery can charge many time like moble phone battery, laptop battery , power banks etc. in rechargeable generally we have lithium-ion widley used in electric vehicles and moble phone battery.
working : a battery is a deivce that stores chemical energy and converts it to electical energy. in battery a chemical reaction takes the flow of electrons from one electrode to another electrode through the circuit. the flow of electrode gives electric current. the electrolyte is used to balance the flow of electrons.
Fuse : fuse is a safety device. the fuse breaks the cricuit if a fault in an application or an equipment causes too much current to flow.
this protects the wiring and the applicane if somthing goes wrong. the fuse contains a piece of wire that melts easliy.
3 Ans: given data:
fuse rating = ?
voltage = 12v
p=v*i
= 12*10
p= 120kw
fuse rating = (p*1.5)/v
= (120*1.5)/12
= 15a
4 Ans: given data:
load = 500 watt
time = (considering 12 hours)
voltage =12v
capacity = 500*12
= 6000wh
ah = wh/v
= 6000/12
= 500 ah
5 Ans : Generator is connected parallel to current and voltage regulator where the parallel connections have same potential differences of voltage across their ends.
6 Ans : Ammeter: it measure the current flow in the circuit and also the rsistance of an ammeter is very small due to which it doesn't affect the current to be measured so, an ammeter is connected in series to measure current.
Battery : battery is connected in series with high voltage to improve the drivability and energy efficiency
