Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit
1.
Ammeter
Battery
Ignition coil
Starter
Generator
Breaker
Distributor
Foot selector switch
Fuse
Current and Voltage regulator.
2.
Generator: An electirc generator is a device used to convert mechanical energy to electrical energy.It uses the mechanical energy to force the movement of electric charges present in the wire of its windings through the external electric circuit.
Ignition Coil: It tranforms the electric energy fromt the vehicle battery into high voltage,saves in it and emit it as a high voltage current pulse to a spark plug using distributor.
Breaker: It is a safety device used to protect an electric circuit from being damaged ,overloaded or short ciruit .It act as electric switch which automatically interrupt the current flow when it exceeds its limit .
3.
Given data:
Total load(I)=10A
Voltage(V)= 30V(since the typical car battery Voltage is 30V)
To Find:
Fuse rating=
Solution:
we know that:
P=V*I
P=30*10
P=300KW
Fuse rating ,I=(P*1.5)/V
=(300*1.5)/30
=15A
Since the fuse rating is more than maximum load of the appliance to avoid the short circuits or damage of appliances due to overload .we must maintain the fuse rating minimum 25% greater than the toatl load.so that the fuse rating is to be 15A.
4.
Given:
I=10A(As mentioned above)
P=500W
To Find:
Voltage and Capacity of battery
Solution:
P=V*I
V=500/10
V=50V
Capacity(C)=I*T
=10*1
C=10Ah.
5.
Lights:Here lights are connected in paralle circuit .Each has its own circuit. The connection is parallel because if anyone of the lights is malfunction ina circuit, it does not affect the others, still other lights glow.
Horn:Here parallel switching of high and low tones is used and the main sound frequencies of these signals are harmoniously combined.
6.
Battery:It is connected in series with high voltage to improve drivability and energy efficiency
Ammeter:An ammeter is a device which measures the amount of current flowing in a circuit.it has very low resistance .It will be connected in parallel , it would draw most of the current and it get damage.
