Challenge

Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit

Ans 1:-

Major elements are as followes:-

1.Battery

2. fuse

3.Generator

4.starter

5. ignition coil

6.breaker

7.lights

8.ammeter

9.current voltage regulator

10. junction block

Ans 2:-

purpose and working of three elements are:-

1. Battery:-

It is a collection of cells, it store energy. It convert chemical energy into electrical energy. chemical reaction occuring in the cells of a battery results in the flow of electricity in the circuit.

two type of batteries 1 primary: that is non-rechargeble & 2. secondary: that is rechargeble.

2. Generator:-

it is a device which convert mechanical energy into electrical energy. when the conductor cuts magnetic flux an emf is generated due to electromagnetic induction. main parts of generator are stator, rotor, armature winding, commutator, brushes etc.

3. Fuse:-

It is a safety device which is used when equipment or appliance causes over flow of current by triping the circuit by means of it breaks itself when a fault occure due to over flow to current. it uses metal wire which melts when too much current flow through it. it protect the appliance and wiring. it help by avoiding short circuit. types of fuse used

1. cartridge type

2. rewirable type

Ans 3:-

total load = 10A

 fuse rating = ?

so, if voltage = 12V

then power = voltage * current

                 = 12 * 10

                 = 120

now Fuse rating

 Current = power * 1.5 / voltage

             ( to avoide appliance from short circuit or damage due to over flow of current or load fuse rating should be more then the maximum load.)

So, I = (120 * 1.5) / 12

       I = 15A  will be fuse rating.   ans.

Ans 4:

Power = 500 watt

volatge & capacity = ?

so, power = voltage * current

              if current we take 15 A then

    voltage = power/current

               = 500/15

               = 33.33 V ans.

and capacity = Ah

      capacity = current * hour    take hr = 1

       capacity = 15 * 1

        capacity = 15 Ah   ans.

Ans 5:-

 elements connected in parallel are

1 parking lamp   2. horn

parking lamp are connected in parallel so that if one light get damage or short then other will contineu the working without any problem. and horn also work without any problem.

Ans 6:-

element connected in series are

1. battery 2. ammeter

ammeter connected in series with battery because in series connection ammeter doed not affected the current. as it is low ressistence device so if it connected in parallel will draw more current & will damage.
