Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit
1)MAJOR ELECMENTS IN ABOVE WIRING DIAGRAM:
Ignition Coil,Junction Block,Generator,Breaker,Fuse,Starter,Battery,Dome Light Switch,Current&Voltage Regulator,Distributor,Tail Stop.
2. GENERATOR:
PURPOSE:
Its create electrical energy that is used to power important appliances.The energy is created by burning fuel and turning energy into electricity.
WORKING:
They convert mechanical energy into electrical energy.They do this by capturing power of motion and turning it into electrical energy by forcing electrons from external source through an electrical circuit.
PARKING LAMP:
PURPOSE:
Its make the car visible from the side so that other vehicles can easily spot the vehicle.those lights can also be used during bad weather
WORKING:
Parking lights can be switched on and off by rotating the dial into the correct position.
LIGHT SWITCH:
Purpose:
In electrical wiring,a light switch is a switch most commonly used to operate electric lights,permanently connected equipment, or electrical outlets.portable lamps such as table lamps may have a light switch mounted on the socket,base, or in-line.
WORKING:
When you toggle the level to the ON position, the gate snaps closed,completes the circuit, and allows power to flow through the switch and onward to the light fixture.

TO Find:
Fuse rating=?
SOLUTION;
For selecting the fuse, fusing factor can be selected anywhere between ( 1.2 to 2)
Selecting fusing factor, f = 1.5 ( 50 % more than the load current )
Fuse current rating = Load current x fusing factor = 10 x 1.5 = 15 A
4.
Given:
P=500
To Find:
voltage=?,capacity of voltage=?
Solutions:
First we find current value I=P/V{Take V=12}
I=500/12
I=41.6A
Now Voltage,V=P/I
V=500/41.6
V=12V
Capacity of battery,
I=P/V{Take V=12}
I=500/12
I=41.6Ah
5.
- Tail stop lamps to each other
- Sealed Beams to each other
The lamps are connected in parallel in electrical circuit. This is due to the fact that, if they are connected in series, while passing through the first lamp, the current encounters a resistance and while passing through the next, the resistance doubles up in the entire circuit. This causes the current through the circuit to get halved leading to the feeble glow of the bulb. Hence such components are always connected in parallel making the current to encounter resistance only once.
6.
- gas tank unit and fuel gauge
- battery and ammeter
The gas tank unit and fuel gauge are connected in series to enhance the 'communication' between the two elements. Here the changes in the fluid level can lead to a resistance change in the circuit. This resistance change can be linked directly to the gauge needle for graphical representation on the vehicle dashboard. Hence, since resistance is the controlling factor, they are connected in series. The battery and ammeter are always connected in series in order to measure the current through the circuit.
