Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit

Q

1. : Identify each of the major elements in the above automotive wiring diagram.

ANS -

Major element of the given circuit

1. Battery

2. Genrator

3. fuse

4. ammeter

5. breaker

6.current and voltage regulator

2. : Explain the purpose and working of any three elements briefly .

ANS=

Genarator: An electric generator is a device that converts mechanical energy obtained from an external source into electrical energy. It uses the mechanical energy supplied to it to force the movement of electric charges present in the wire of its windings through an external electric circuit.

Fuse:It is a safety device. The fuse breaks the circuit if a fault in an appliance causes too much current to flow. This protects the wiring and the appliance if something goes wrong. The fuse contains a piece of wire that melts easily.

Breaker:A circuit breaker is an electrical safety device designed to protect an electrical circuit from damage caused by an overcurrent or short circuit. Its basic function is to interrupt current flow to protect equipment and to prevent the risk of fire.

Q

3. : If the total load is 10A from battery, what should be the fuse rating ?

ANS :given data

total load (i)=10 amp

fuse rating =?

voltage (v) =30 v (typical car battery voltage is 30 v)

p=v*i

p=30*10

p=300A

Fuse rating =i=(p*1.5)/v

i= (300*1.5)/30

i =15A

The fuse rating should lie somewhere between these two values to allow normal operation but blow on overload. For example,

if the normal expected current draw is 10A and the cable size is 25A, then a fuse rated at 15A would be appropriate.

Q

4. : If 500W is the load, what is the voltage and capacity of battery you recommend?

ans : given data

i =10A

P =500W

V=? C=?

We know that from the formula

p=v*i

v=p/i

v= 500/10

v=50 v

capacity (c)=i*t

10*1

C=10A

Q

5 : Identify any two elements which are connected parallel to each other. Why they are connected in parallel?

ANS : There are two type of connection in parallel

1. Ignition switch : ingnition switch are also called as starter switch ,are connected to parallel in electromagnetic coil and fuel indicator

> in case ingnition switch is on ther time coil also energised but right time ingnition switch are connect to the fuel indicator then ,

> in case the fuel is not available in tank ther time coil will be not energised so motor starter is non operation condition .and it is required for drive cycle to the operator

2. font selector switch : font selector switch ,are connect to the two scaled beam in a parallel.

>when the scaled beam form a one singuler then as per requirment a drive cycle change the font of scale beam that are connecedd in parallel connection

> parallel switching of a high and low tones is use and main sound frequencies of these signals are harmoniusly combined.

Q

6 : Identify any two elements which are connected in series. Why they are connected in series?

ANS : there are two element are connected in serries

1.battery : connected in serris with high voltage to improve the drivability and energy efficiency .

2.ammeter: an a ammeter is a divice wich major the amount of current flowing a circuit.
