A combination of vertical and horizontal carousel system is used for automatic storage and retrieval system (ASRS) in the vehicle for delivery and storage purpose.

As the vehicle is just an autonomous delivery vehicle, human inclusion inside the vehicle is not required, hence the ergonomic and style design of the interior is not needed and only workability aspect is included in the interior design.

The ASRS system of the vehicle can be disintegrated into 2 parts:

1. Delivery loop

2. Storage space

3. Dispensing plate

Delivery loop

The delivery loop will be responsible for storage of the deliverables inside the storage space.

The geometric structure of the loop is shown below :

The movement of the loop in clockwise/anti-clockwise will be propelled by a chain system, and it would envelope the storage space.

Storage space

The storage space is a matrix of cuboidal spaces inside the delivery loop, for storing the deliverables.

It will also be propelled by chains, which are further driven by electric motor.

Dispensing window

The dispensing window will be the point of interaction of customers and delivery servers with the ASRS system.

While retrieving, it would be open to include deliverables into the storage matrix, and while delivering, customer would be able to get the deliverable from the storage system using dispensing window.
