Supply and Demand Gap Analysis: Uber Cab dataset

• Aim: To analyze a cab data to find the pattern of demand and supply

• Introduction: We have a dataset that has got the following fields: Request Id, Pickup Point, Status, Request time and drop time along with driver Id.

• Problem statement: We need to analyze this data and recommend methods to meet the supply gap efficiently.

• Methodology: Only Single step : Of removing null values and missing values.

• Analysis (Data sheets pertaining to it):Creating a line chart to show hourly demand, hourly fulfilled demand, hourly unfulfilled demand and comparing them simultaneously. Also show supply gap by Pickup point.

• Insights: We found that the supply gap or non availability of cabs is numerically almost equivalent to the cabs available.

• Recommendations: Therefore just by increasing the number of cabs , revenue can be significantly increased. And more precisely, if the number of cabs is increased at Airport first, then revenue can be boosted in minimum cost and effort.

• Conclusions: This company still has enormous scope for gowth. Implementing our recommendation will boost growth over time.
