Battery resistance 2 milli ohm

Consider the battery resistance is 0.5 mOhm, delta time is 0.1 and entropic factor is 2

AIM- To find max heat generated by battery and SOC of battery at time 208 seconds.

Here given is,

Battery resistance = 0.5mohm, entropic heat = 2

Here we know that,

Maximum heat generated = Maximum joule heat +Entropic heat

Therefore,

Maximum joule heat = I^2*R*T,

So the maximum current is -0.896 at time equals 2 mins.

So I = -0.896, R = 0.5mohm , T = 2*60 = 120 seconds.

Maximum joule heat = ((-0.896)^2)*0.0005*120

Maximum joule heat = 48.16 Milli joule

Therefore maximum heat generated will be,

Max heat generated = 48.16 + 2 = 50.16 milli joule

Now, for SOC of the battery at 2*104 seconds.

Here, we need to make a model in simulink,

This is the simulink model we need,

So here this model contains a signal builder block, We give the drive cycle given as source and input in the signal builder block,

There is a controlled voltage source block then connect ted to generic lithium-ion battery, further connected to bus selector and then scope to get SOC.

We run the model for 208 seconds as mentioned.

Here we can see the soc of battery decreases with time.

Initial battery SOC is 100%.

At time= 40 seconds, the battery SOC gets decreased to less than half SOC.

The battery SOC gets 0% at time = 180 seconds.

The Simulink model is attached below.
