Project 2
PROJECT 2: WIRING HARNESS ROUTING ON CAR BACKDOOR
OBJECTIVE:
* Define the connectors, clips and clamps electrically for the harness bundle routing for the car Backdoor.
* Develop the bundle Routing in Car backdoor.
* Develop flattening model for created Bundle Assembly.
3D MODEL OF VEHICLE BACKDOOR

Electrically Defined connector C-DT06-08SA-CE13
Electrically Defined fir tree clip
Beginning of connector to car back door
Developed Electrical bundle segment
The mechanical assembly design workbench is switched to Electrical Harness assembly. In the product selection, click on Geometrical bundle and Multi-branch Document for the routing system. The routing definition system becomes visible in CATIA software. Set up the route definition parameters including diameter and bend radius. Create the routing by clicking from point 1 of the connector through the fir tree clip connector points to establish the wiring connection.
flattening product harness
To create a flattening view of the electrical harness assembly (routing), minimize one screen. Start by selecting New → Product → Electrical Harness Flattening on the other screen, then set the harness flattening parameters. In the flattening screen, hide the back door assembly view. In the Extract screen, select all branch wirings of the electrical harness to make the complete wiring connections visible in the flattened connection.

cad drawing of flattened harness bundle
After completing the flattening connection, go to New → Open → Drawing. Select the flattened wiring connection and click on front view to display the front view drawing."

steps followed
- Defined connector, Bundle connection point and connector -connection point c-dt06-08sa-ce13 connector.
- Define Bundle entry and exit point for furr tree clip.
- Created a electrical context assembly.
- imported car backdoor in the context assembly.
- furr tree clips are provides in between the connectors for the routing.
- defined branch Definition.
- bend radius ratio is set as1.4.
- automatic offset connection enabled.
- Developed flattening of routed product in electrical flattening workbench.
- created the drawing for the flattened product.
CONCLUSIONS
- Electrical connections for all the components are done successfully.
- Electrical harness Routing for vehicle backdoor has developed Successfully.
- Flattening of Electrical routing product has developed successfully.
