PROJECT 2.

Overview

In this project we will be analyzing the alumni career choice based on the six dataset we are having in csv format. The dataset contains two colleges A and B, and three career choice higher studies, self-employed, or employment. We will be constructing database as alumni and will import all the files into it. We will import clean, explore and visualize to provide insights into alumni career selections over and year.

TASK 1 to 5

In this section we have set up the base for the project like creating database to importing dataset into it and exploring the files in different platforms.

TASK 6 to 12

In this task we are cleaning the dataset and making updates in the fields as ask in the project. And Stored the clean files into the views of the database.

Note in Task No. 12 it was to change the names into lowercase but after the data exploration conducted in above tasks the columns of Name, FatherName and MotherName were already in the lowecase type. So I have done opposite of it that converted them into UPPERCASE as it is the same things just instead of lowercase function i have used UPPERCASE function.

TASK 13

Here i have imported the clean files of view into the excel with the pivoted chart for location of alumni. Where got to know about which location of alumni are opting what career.

CHARTs

1)College A Higher Studies alumni.

2) College A Self Employed alumni.

3) College A Service Job alumni.

4) College B Higher Studies alumni.

5) College B Self Employed alumni.

6) College B Service Job alumni.

TASK 14 and 15

In this this task we created the procedures to get all the names of the alumni from the college A and College B.

Note In Task 14 the dataset college_a_sj was not used it has a larger amount of data which was not possible in sql to fit it in one single row.

TASK 16

We have performed the calculation on which college alumni are selecting which career option and with that we can get an idea about alumni career selection as well as which college is having what type of alumni.

Conclusion

In this project we demonstrated data analysis majorly using SQL and few other tools like python, Excel. With this exercise we calculated approximate percentage of alumni choosing higher studies, self-employed, and Service/Job for both college A and college B. With usin the Pivot charts in Excel the number of alumni across various location, useful for understanding the growth areas for each institutes. This analysis also impacts on institute performance, which also affects the college ranking and enhance the week and areas.

MySQL, Python, and MS Excel.
