Project 2

objective:- For the given assembly, check for the geometrical errors and mesh with the given element Quality criteria. After meshing the component the thickness has to be assigned for mid surfaces. Use tetra elements to model non-uniform thickness components.

procedure:- we have to mesh the tyre and rim with different target size as mentioned above .

1.separate the tyre and rim from the model .

2. mesh the surfaces of the tyre with trias as the mesh type .

3. after completing the mesh of every surface we have to define a volume.{ V.MESH-> VOLUMES -> DEFINE }.

4. after creating a volume we can create tera mesh by using tera rapid or tetra fem .{V.MESH-> UNSTRUCTURED MESH->TETRA FEM (OR) TETRA RAPID}

5 . similarly the rim portion also should be meshed with the same element quality .

6. after meshing these parts we have to look over the remaining components .

7. If the thickness is exceeding 5mm it is reccommended to go for the unstructured mesh .

8. let us take a component and check for the thickness .

9.as the thickness for this component is more than the 5mm . it is recommended to go with the unsturctured mesh.

10. for unsturctured mesh we have to create a mesh over the surfaces with trias .

11. for this component we have to define a volume .{V.MESH-> VOLUMES -> DEFINE}

12. after creating a volume we can create tera mesh by using tera rapid or tetra fem .{V.MESH-> UNSTRUCTURED MESH->TETRA FEM (OR) TETRA RAPID}

13. choose another component let it be disk now .

14. as the thickness is more than the 5mm we can go for unstructured mesh.

15. we can delete the beeds and we can mesh only the thoose four things .

16. we can use rotate command for the remaining things .

17. by giving topo we can get rid of thoose single cons .

18. we can mesh the remaining areas also .

19. similarly we can do it for the remaining components .

20. we can give some bolt locations where ever it required.

results:-

we have to look over all the surfaces are meshed or not .
