Project 1 (Mini Project on Vehicle Direction Detection
Aim: Development of MATLAB Simulink model for Vehicle Direction Determination.
Description:
Step 1: Subsystem “Direction_Determination” is created with below inputs and output
- Input 1: SteeringWheel_YawDegreeInput
- Input 2: CameraInput_RoadSign
- Output 1: Vehicle_Direction_Indicator
Step 2: Two subsystems are created as per requirement.
- Subsystem “SteeringWheel_Pos_Determination” as per Requirement 1.
- Subsystem “CameraInput_Pos_Determination” as per Requirement 2
Step 3: Subsystem “SteeringWheel_Pos_Determination” as per Requirement 1
- Following are the input and output
- Input 1: SteeringWheel_YawDegreeInput
- Output 1: Vehicle_Turn_Status
Logic:
- Input 1: SteeringWheel_YawDegreeInput is compared with constant >= 30 such that its output is a Boolean value.
- The above output is then compared with Right_Turn_AngularLimit, Left_Turn_AngularLimit and Straight_Drive_Steering_Angle using switch blocks.
- The output is Boolean data with signal named as “Vehicle_Turn_Status”.
Step 4: Subsystem “CameraInput_Pos_Determination” as per Requirement 2
- Following are the input and output
- Input 1: Vehicle_Turn_Status
- Input 2: CameraInput_RoadSign
- Output 1: Vehicle_Direction_Indicator
- Input 1: Vehicle_Turn_Status is compared with calibration values RightTurn_RoadSign, LeftTurn_RoadSign, Straight_RoadSign using ‘equal to’ relational operator.
- Then each of the three corresponding output is compared against the camera input signal using ‘equal to’ relational operator to get 3 out signals - Right_Turn, Left_Turn and Straight_Drive respectively.
- Using ‘OR’ logical operator block, only one among mentioned outputs is finally given as output signal “Vehicle_Direction_Indicator”.
Step 5: New SLDD is created and linked to Data Dictionary.
Step 6: Model Properties is checked and required changes are made.
Step 7: Model is compiled to check for any errors. No errors found.
Step 8: Model Advisory report is generated.
Step 9: System target file is changed to ert.tlc. Code C is build and generated.
Justification:
- The output is generated as a Boolean signal using ‘OR’ logical operator block, only one among mentioned outputs (- Right_Turn, Left_Turn and Straight_Drive respectively) is finally given as output signal “Vehicle_Direction_Indicator”.
