Project 1 - Meshing of Floor Panel

Objective:

To generate mid surface and mesh the floor panel using 2D mesh with required quality parameters.

PROCEDURE:

Geometry clean up

• Check the geometry for errors and fix the errors which can be fixed automatically.
• Clear the triple cone, mono cone and irregular faces for better midsurface generation.
• Fine the surface area by changing perimeter settings.
• Defeaturing of geometry can be done for better mesh flow.

Midsurface Generation

• Generate mid suface using offset option for the whole geometry.
• Cut the plane sufaces for creating proper mesh flow.
• Geometry error can be fixed after extracting mid suface.

Mesh Generation

• Set mesh quality parameters for quality checking.
• Create shell mesh using shell mesh option.
• Check the quality by going into hidden mode.
• Clear the mesh quality by using suitable manual options.
• Try to avoid tria mesh as much as possible for better FEA results.

RESULT:

Floor panel is meshed with 2D mesh using quad dominant mesh.
