Project 1 - Meshing of Floor Panel

Objective:

- For the given CAD model, Checking for the Geometry cleanup , Taking the mid surface, and Meshing it with respect of the givien 2D element Quality criteria.

Approches:

Firstly, the CAD model has several geometric errors which had been resolved by creating a mid-surface directly to avoid these errors ( This step was done with the help of technical support engineer).

- Secondly, after the mid-surface has been generated, I have checked again for any geometric errors of the mid-surface.

there were several errors and missing faces which were resolved by creating a new faces to get those missing areas. Lastly, after there was no geometric errors , The CAD was ready for the next process.

- Thirdly, I have set the quality cirteria as required for this project.

Using a classic mesh model in order to start the mesh with respect to set the target element length to 5 mm as required.

After the mesh was taken, I have checked for any quality criteria failure along the mesh and took out any excessive trias as possible as I can.

conclusions:

As a conclusion, I learned from this project there could be some difficulties to do geomtry clean-up due the conversion from 3D Model to 2D Model which in this case better to get the mid-surface first in 2D model to save time and then get any missing surfaces.
