Project 1 - 2D meshing on the instrumental Panel

AIM : To extract the mid surface of the instrumental panel and to mesh the mid surface according the given quality criteria.

In this project, casting method is used to extract the mid suface.

PROCEDURE: Step 1) Geometry is imported to ansa and topology is done to stitch the surfaces.

Step2) Measuring of different features like ribs, dog house etc in order to
                  find the minimum thickness.

Step 3) Geometry clean is done using checks manager and errors are fixed
automatically using ansa.Cracks in the geometry is cleared manually.

Step 4) Casting option is used in extracting the mid suface.
casting mesh generator does not provide mid surface exactly similar to
                   the cad.

Step 5)Align manager is used to get the correct midplane after casting
process. This include using of perimeter option to correct the feature
lines. Cons to curve option is used to make mid suface of dog house by
                  using fill option in shell.

Step 6) Once the mid suface is generated ,mesh flow is made correct by using
                  reconstruction ,smooth and reshape options.

Step 7)Most of the off elements are corrected and some elements near to triple
                 cons remains off.

Learning and outcomes: 1)Topology clean up was done with no errors
2)Use of align manager was understood properly
3)Understood all the concepts regarding mid surface generation
                           and meshing in ANSA

Reason for using casting method: Midplane extraction as well as meshing can be done fast and simuntenously ,To have idea about the usage of align manager.
