Project 1
1) Hydrebad Metro project
1A)
- Hydrebad metro project is public private partnership project.
- The construction of metro is done by L&T.
- The operation and maintanence of the metro is done by Larsen and Turbo under public private partnership until the contract.
- The budget of the prooject is about 18000 crore.
- Hydrebad metro consists of 3 routes with a total of 72 kilometres.
- The three routes are connected around the hydrebad city having stations in most important areas.
- The three routes are Miyapur - LB Nagar, JBS – Falaknuma & Nagole - Raidurg route.
- Two most possible routes in the metro are : Miyapur - LB Nagar & Nagole - Raidurg route.
- These two routes are of around same length and almost same number of stations along the routes.
- The third route is comparatively shorter in length and in number of stations than other 2 routes.
- Major cities are connected along these two most possible routes.
1B)
- There are three instersections in hydrebad metro project.
- The three routes are named Red line, Blue line and Green line.
- Red line and Blue line are the longest routes compared to Green line.
- Red line and Blue line are interconnected at one station called Ameerpet.
- Ameerpet is a major city and is knowm for its commerce and business and also known as education hub. Major institutions are located in this city making it an education hub, it is best option to make this station as an interconnection for both lines.
- Green line is short route of 16 km. This green line is interconnected with Red line and Blue line at two points for the people travelling in Green line to access both Red line and Blue line.
1C)
- There are one depot for each Red line and Blue line.
- One is Miyapur depot for the Red line and other is uppal Depot for the Blue line.
- These depot are located at two ends of these two lines.
- One at starting of Red line and other one is located at end of Blue line.
- The Uppal depot is the main depot cum workshop where the overhaul and corrective maintenance facilities for whole fleet are planned. The other two depots have basic facilities for maintenance.
- Position of the depots at two ends of the line helps in easy accessing, time saving. Nearby trains are send to the respective depots after the working time.
1D)
- Hydrebad metro doesn't consists of tunnel. There is no underground tracks.
- All the routes are constructed on the ground.
- Major reason for this is due to the Nature of terrain of hydrebad.
- Hydrebad city is of rocky terrain. so constructing the metro underground will be of double costs.
- The city's sewage system is more than 100 years old. Digging up and reconstructing all those will be of high risk and cost.
1E)
- Total length of hydrebad Metro is of 72 km.
- There are three routes named Red line, Green line and Blue line.
- Total number of stations of the metro are 59 stations.
- Red line contains 27 stations with total length of 29.2 knm
