REPORT OF AMERICAN CHOPPER

AIM & OBJECTIVE:-

  • To learn the SolidWorks interface and simultaneously sketch or model the parts of the American chopper, apply appearance & materials,
  • Do assembly of modeled parts to get the chopper.
  • Do the visualization of the assembled chopper with the environment.

mechanical 3D CAD ( computer-aided design) software used to create 2D&3D models.it helps to design products better, faster, and more cost-effectively.

COMMON TOOL USED IN MODELING OF CHOPPER

  • PLANE:- Here the section view of the model is to be sketched.
  • SKETCH:-it gives the work-based to create 2D&3D Sketches.
  • SMART DIMENSION:-By using this easy to provide the dimension value to the sketch to get the desired shape
  • FILLET:- it provides a round shape at the corners edges
  • CHAMFER:-it provides sloping edges at corners.
  • CONVERT ENTITIES:- Using this easy to get sketched into other planes or the same dimension value.
  • OFFSET:- it Adds 3D sketches on faces.
  • SHELL:- The shell tool out a part.
  • EXTRUDE BOSS/BASE:- used to get a solid body in one or two directions
  • REVOLVED BOSS/BASE:-Use to revolve the sketch with the reference of axis or lines in the solid form.
  • SWEPT BOSS/BASE:- it provides a solid body by a closed profile along an open and closed path.
  • PATTERN:- it features the object in a particular direction or path
  • PROJECTED CURVE:-it combines two 2D continue curves into a 3D curve
  • APPEARANCE:- Using this can get a different look & apply differently materials
  • DECALS: - Using this tool painted sticker is to be applied.
  • View (Heads-up):- Following command come under this
  • Zoom to fit
  • Zoom to area
  • Previous view
  • section view
  • view orientation
  • Display style

COMPONENT OF AMERICAN CHOPPER:-

  • Transmission Belt
  • Padel
  • kickstand
  • chassis
  • Engine
  • front fork
  • rear wheel
  • front wheel
  • front fender
  • rear fender
  • Chain
  • Gas tank
  • Oil tank

Chassis:-

The chassis is the backbone of the vehicle.it is a structural unit that bears all the load of the vehicle body ridder and payload applied to its purpose to provide proper support and balance to the vehicle all components connect directly or indirectly

Chain:-

chain drive is transmitting mechanical power from one sprocket to another

FRONT FORK:- it holds the front wheel fork is made of four different materials: steel, aluminum, titanium, and carbon fiber. it's used to provide direction while riding

Fender:-

the fender is the frame installed over the wheel it also prevents water and mud spray.

GAS TANK:-

it acts as a reservoir tank

Engine:-

it acts as mechanical energy transferred

OIL TANK:-

it acts as a reservoir tank it contains flammable fuel safety.

WHEEL:- A tire is a strong, flexible rubber casing attached to the rim of a wheel. tires provide a gripping surface for traction and serve as a cushion for the wheel of a moving vehicle

ASSEMBLY:-

in the assembly parts, all individual parts are inserted into the assembly tool of Solidworks. Fix one of the components into the work base. proved mates and relation reaming part to the fixed one with respect to line, vertex & planes. while do assembly keeps remembering that +sing indicates that the parts are over defined. Solidworks have very friendly tools. while assembling if the pats get oversize or irregular shape can be edited in an assembly work base

RENDERING:-

it is a very important part be because of the different materials, colors, etc to be applied to assembly one. here, the product to be seen under the environmental condition with a different view

Conclusion:-

The design process usually involves the following steps:
• Identify the model requirements.
• Conceptualize the model based on the identified needs.
• Develop the model based on the concepts.
• Analyze the model.
• Prototype the model.
• Construct the model.
• Edit the model, if needed.
