TITLE - MODELLING AND RENDERING OF AMERICAN CHOPPER USING SOLIDWORKS.
OBJECTIVE:-
To create a 3d model of American Chopper using Solidworks 2020.
Create model of different sub-assemblies of chopper using solidworks.
Assemble the model parts to get final model.
Rendering final model to get Photorealistic model using Solidworks Photoview 360.
INTRODUCTION:-
To design any object we have to start with modelling 2d and 3d images. 2d modelling is a process of representing different view of physical body in space. 3d moselling is a process of representing a physical body using collection of points in 3d space. Part modelling consists of both processes while designing any object. In part modelling we can create a part from a conceptual sketch through solid feature based modelling, as well as build and modify parts through direct and intuitive graphical manipulation. This project consists of sketching, featuring and part modelling different parts of American chopper with the help of Solidworks 2020.
DESIGN METHODOLOGY:-

DESCRIPTION:-
Part creation process start from drawing fully defined 2d sketches. These sketches are the references to multiple features by which 3d part created.
Sketch - It consists of various options for creating different entities:-
Line, Circle, Polygon, Spline, Offset, Fillet, Convert entities, Trim entities.
Different ways to use above options:-
1) Features and Surfaces - These tabs consist of multiple options which can help to create different shape solid body and surfaces.
2) Appearance - In this feature, we can apply material or visual appearance to part or model. These appearances help us while rendering to achieve real world image.
AMERICAN CHOPPER:- It consists of 13 parts/ sub- assemblies as per below:-
a) Transmission belt - It is used to transmit power engine to gearbox.

Features used to create transmission belt:-
1) Extrude- This feature is used to convert 2d sketch into 3d object.
2) Fillet - This feature is used to convert external and internal edges into rounded shape.
3) Offset entities - It is used to create same entities on some distance.
Procedure:-
1) Draw the fully defined sketch of require dimension on front plane using line and arc option. Then offset the sketch on some distance to create thickness of belt.
2) Then extrude command is used to convert 2d sketch into 3d.
3) Fillet is applied as per requirement to sharp edges.
4) Model is fully defined and should be saved.
b) KICKSTAND - It is used to support chopper when not in use and pivoted to chasis in such way that it can be move down the frame.

Features Used:-
1) Extrude boss- This feature is used to convert 2d sketch into 3d object.
2) Fillet
3) Loft- It determines the profiles used to create a loft. Select sketch profiles, faces or edges to connect. Lofts are created based on the order of profile selection.
4) Dome- This is used to apply dome shape to faces. This allows you to apply domes to irregularly shaped contours.
5) Split- This feature is use to split the solid bodies, surfaces and allow us to remove unnecessary portion.
6) Extrude cut- It help to remove the material from solid bodies.
c) FRONT FENDER - It is mounted on front wheel and below the front fork. It prevents mud particle being thrown into the air by rotating tyres.

Features used:-
1) Revove- Any profile can be revolved about an axis, centre line or edges and obtain solid bodies from 0 degrees to 360 deg.
2) Dynamic mirror- In this you can mirror any sketch or entities about pre-selected sketch or entity.
3) Offset entities.
d) REAR FENDER:- The use of rear fender is same as front fender. It is mounted on chasis above the rear wheel.

Features used:-
1) Shell - This feature hollows out part, leaves open the faces selected and creates thin walled feature on remaining faces. Also, it creates closed hollow model.
2) Revolve
3) Split
4) Fillet
e) FRONT WHEEL:-

Features used:-
1) Combine - It allows combining two or more solid bodies.

5) Extrude cut.
6) Revolve.
g) PEDAL:- It is attached to chasis to rest rider's foot while driving.

2) Revolve.
3) Extrude boss.
4) Fillet.
5) Dome.
6) Chamfer.
h) CHAIN:- It is part of transmission system. It helps to transmit power from engine to rear wheel with help of sprocket mounted on rear wheel and engine.

Features used:-
1) Curve Pattern - It allow to pattern solid bodies along a curve path at required instances.
2) Block - Sometimes we need a single sketch multiple times. We can convert such a sketch into block at add it whenever require.
3) Mirror.
4) Extrude.
5) Fillet.
i) GAS TANK:- It is used to store gas require to start the engine.

Features Used:-
1) Sweep surface - It genearates surface from section curve positioned along a path.
2) Loft surface - It create surfaces between existing edges by creating smooth tangency between selected curve.
3) Extrude surface - It convert projected surface into 3d surface.
4) Boundary surface - This feature create surface between boundaries or edges but specifying both direction.
5) Surface Knit:- This feature is use to combine two or more surfaces to make one solid body surface.
6) Surface Trim - It is use to remove unnecessary surface.
