Photo Realistic Rendering
MODELLING AND RENDERING OF AMERICAN CHOPPER
OBJECTIVE:
To create modelling and photo realistic rendering of American chopper by using solidworks.
Design methodology:
STEPS FOR DESIGN:
*open a new file
*Selection of plane
*sketch as per dimension
*Surface modelling or solid modelling
*Fillet or chamfer
*save the design or model
MODELLING:
THE CHOPPER CONSIST OF THE FOLLOWING PART’S
1.chassis
2.Engine
3.Front fork
4.Pedal
5.Chain
6.Oil tank
7.Gas tank
8.Transmission belt
9.front fender
10.Rear fender
11.Front wheel
12.Rear wheel
13.Kick stand
All the parts are designed separately and finally assembled together to get the final American chopper.

Week1:
PARTS:1.Transmisson belt 2.kick stand 3.front fender
Command’s used:
*2d sketch
*Lines and circles
*Extrude
*revolve
*Dome
*Fillet

The above following commands are used to design to make the week 1 parts.and the dimensions and instructions are followed by the week 1 video. Most of the solid modelling tools are used to design the above parts.
Week2:
PARTS:4.Oil tank 5.Chain 6.Pedal
Command’s used:
*2d sketch
*Sweep
*Revolve
*splines
*Trim
*Extrude cut

To make the new block inside the drawing while creating chain is more useful for such a tricky parts.
The above following commands are used to design to make the week 2 parts.and the dimensions and instructions are followed by the week 2 video.
Week3:
PARTS:7.Front wheel
Command’s used:
*2d sketch
*Sweep
*Revolve cut
*Circular pattern
*combine
*Extrude cut
*Revolve

In Front wheel we are using circular pattern for making that spider web for the rim. Revolve cut also used for the rim to get better surface finish. The above following commands are used to design to make the week 3 parts.and the dimensions and instructions are followed by the week 3 video.
Week4:
PARTS:
8.Rear wheel 9.Front fork
Command’s used:
*3d sketch
*Sweep
*Revolve
*Mirror pattern
*Dome
*Projected curve

The rear wheel is as same as the front wheel chain sprocket is the additional part we have to design in the rear wheel.
The usage of projected curve and sweep is give the better finish in the handle of the front fork. Mirror pattern also is used to make another side of the fork to complete.
The above following commands are used to design to make the week 4 parts.and the dimensions and instructions are followed by the week 4 video.

Week5:
PARTS: 10.Chassis 11.engine
Command’s used:
*Sweep
*Revolve
*Extrude
*Dome
*Projected curve
*Split
*Mirror
In the chassis model most of the surface modelling tool like sweep and projected curves are used to give the better finish

The projected curves are used to make the engine exhaust, most of the solid modelling features are used to finish the engine.
The above following commands are used to design to make the week 4 parts.and the dimensions and instructions are followed by the week 4 video.
Week6:
PARTS: 12.Gas tank
Command’s used:
*Surface loft
*Surface Sweep
*Boundary surface
*Revolve
*Extrude
*Knit surface
*Projected curve

In gas tank both surface& solid modelling tools are used for getting better finish.
The above following commands are used to design to make the week 5 parts.and the dimensions and instructions are followed by the week 5 video.
After making all the parts, material for each part are given by appearance option in solidworks. This is useful to give the more realistic outlook of the product.
ASSEMBLY OF AMERICAN CHOPPER:
To make the assembly of American chopper we have to use some of the mates. They are following below
*concentric mate
*Parallel mate
*Angle mate
*Distance mate
*Advance mate

PHOTOVIEW360 RENDERING
To make the chopper more realistic to use the photoview360 .To the usage of some commands in photo view360 like camera, decals, Edit scene and etc.

ALL RENDER PARTS:

Conclusion:
- The parts of the chopper are modeled.
- The parts are inserted into the assembly environment and the chopper is assembled.
- The realistic image was rendered with the use of the Photoview 360 & Solidworks visualize.
Modelling, assembly and rendering of an American chopper is successfully done by solidworks.
